Our Story
Elisabeth Cummings in her studio at Wedderburn", Noel Thurgate 2018 Archibald Prize Finalist
We are delighted to offer our beach houses for you to enjoy. The properties are owned by two families from Sydney who have a shared vision of luxurious sustainable tourism that fosters a closeness with nature, and a connectedness with family, friends and the community.

We are big believers in the restorative power of nature, which is yours to enjoy when our friendly kangaroos and rosellas stop by for a daily visit, or when you sit outside on the deck at night and watch the stars. We have been mindful of our natural surroundings in the styling of our retreats. We also named each house with its natural heritage in mind: Myaree (being the Aboriginal word for foliage) and Metta (being place of loving kindness).
The houses also pay homage to the property’s former use as an artist’s retreat. The property was built by and home to Noel Thurgate, five time Archibald Prize finalist (including 2018 and 2017) and former head of drawing at the National Art School in Sydney. Noel now lives and works in Berrima in the nearby Southern Highlands. We are proud of Metta and Myaree’s association with this talented artist.
